Arrows point in the direction of the lane, which for me is always Right Side Drive.Īfter that is "Blocks". Stop Signs (red) and Yield Signs (yellow). I watched a bunch of them just to see how they did stuff, though sometimes muted as them droning on in mindless ramble gets as annoying as Beatrix going on about her past life and profession in the game. His lets plays get into some depth as opposed to the flashy people. Adyken (spelling?) on YT has a nice little vid on signals. The video the Devs did on signals is helpful too. The signal guide in the guides section is helpful. It works for laundry soap and toothpaste, why not trains.

I'm sure the sway of public opinion could be altered to the new and improved. In a sense though it makes no sense as you say - if they are not competing in the cities you run trains then what's the big deal? Had the game for 48 hours now and still struggling with signalling - spent most of it in sandbox seeing what happens when you 'do this' or 'do that'. They may have got the engine via an auction before you had researched it and it pulls faster and so your city is no longer 'impressed' with your delivery times. It is quite possible I may be talking crap but.I got the impression that the express trains were only in danger because the opposition had a faster train (on average) than yours, not a faster line. Thinking I may just make 1 train on every busy route a PM express only to start and see what happens, then dive in to waypoints and bypasses to build some longer P2P lines between bigger cities and see. Track laying may be expensive, but on a decent map you can't help but make a ton of cash in a relatively short time. Who cares if the Baltimore to Washinton line is fast or not.? I'm going to Buffalo. When the AI gets a faster engine, my express routes are in danger, which makes no sense at all unless the AI have an identical line between my cities to actually compete. It seems to have more to do with a faster engine than it does with having a faster line. I get express routes with mixed trains already. Right now, I see no reason to run PM express trains without having two very large cities or a dedicated line. I'm actually going to look at this, I'm sure others are already expirimenting and YT vids will be out soon enough.
